City trips remain transit- and walking-friendly without car hire recommendations, while remote countryside or island routes requiring a rental vehicle or car ferry are clearly tagged so you know exactly what transport to expect.

By default, place search has zero artificial distance limits across your destination country. This ensures searches for remote castles, palaces, and lakes (like Schloss Linderhof from Munich or Versailles from Paris) never hit a "No places found" dead end. If you prefer spatial filtering, you can toggle the search radius slider anywhere up to 200 km, with intelligent defaults based on whether you are walking, cycling, taking transit, or driving.
